ARIANE 5 ATV PROGRAM
Ariane 5 is a European space rocket for satellites and space probes. The ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle) is a shuttle for transporting supplies to the International Space Station including propellant, water, air, spare components and scientific experiments.
The activities carried out by Siem s.r.l for Ariane 5 ATV program, on behalf of Thales Alenia Space SpA, are:
WATER AND GAS LOADING UNIT
Design and implementation of the gas (hydrogen and oxygen) and water loading unit for the ATV space transport system.
- Project: requirement specification, technical specifications, construction drawing
- Implementation, qualification and acceptance testing,
- Support during the first ATV launch campaign at the European Space Center in French Guiana.
